If At First You Don't Succeed, Try Something Different!

Dear Gentle Readers,

My normal, quiet, reflective state of mind is blown today because of a relatively minor technical issue, my author website. I have maintained my author website at

                carolannkauffman.weebly.com

for years now, and have been happy with the site. It has helped me connect to about 40,000 of my readers. I found the weebly site simple and direct, and easy to use. I have that web address on my business cards and my banner, so there are reasons for me to stay there.

However, something happened in October, locking me out of the site and denying me posting privileges. I am unable to gain access to anything but the blog page, and there are days they say I don't have permission to do that much. The latest update doesn't work on my tablet and I'm not always home in my office to post. I have contacted them and they say the problem will be fixed soon.

My question is, if I move my author website from weebly to here at blogger, will my readers be able to find me? Or will I lose a very large number of lovely readers who like my books, read them, and review them?

My readers are smart! I never have to worry about them not being able to follow and relish my many convoluted plot twists and multitude of characters. So I think they'll find me...

What do you think?

Hugs,
Carol

  1. It looks like they're doing upgrades to the site. I have two Weebly sites, one paid for my pen name and one so far free for a local business. The paid site is working fine. The free one isn't right now. I imagine it will when they're done updating. You might consider getting your own domain name [CarolAnnKauffman.com] and then you can attach it to whichever site you want and when you update your cards, etc., put the new address on it. In the meantime, put a note on your Weebly site to redirect fans to the new site, if you want to move to Blogger.

I also use Blogger as websites, but it's far more limited.

  2. Thank you, LK, for the information. If my weebly site would work, I would stay put! Maybe I'll give them some more time!
